TECH | Apple approves DemonNet App for Beta Testing

New to DemonNet? Read about in  TECH | "Demon net" iPhone app prototype and PREVIEW | DemonNet for iOS Developers . The first build of the DemonNet DAQ Client App for iPhone is now available for beta-testing: The first beta build to be tested is actually 1.4 Apple approved the DemonNet DAQ Client for distribution to either beta testers (or even the App Store) Use the TestFlight app to install the app after you receive an invitation to be a beta tester If you own an iPhone and want to participate in the beta testing program, e-mail me at jamesalanbush@yahoo.com . Once you receive an invitation, download the TestFlight app from the App Store to install the software: Version 1 (1.4) is the latest test build, and can be installed with the TestFlight app Since the client app is relatively solid—much effort went into getting it right the first time—I'm not going to hold out for too long before posting it to the App Store. If you're interested, the best ...

Human technology is not always the demonic inferior

If I wasn't developing software to extend my purview of my demonic enemies to as wide as its future users will permit [ see TECH | "Demon net" iPhone app prototype ; see also   DemonNet for iOS Developers ], I'd be a full-time computer nerd. This world has gone to such admirable lengths to build products capable of making effective changes to matters of consequence, which is not the case in all worlds (and, hardly less true on this one than any other). In spite of my situation, I'm compelled to fold such products into the solution somehow, to make use of them (and give honor to them), to make sure they don't go unappreciated, and to herald the selfless charity they embody, everywhere . As a user of such products, I like being at least vicariously associated with the people who build them, if in no other way. It's hard at first to get demons to appreciate a great human product, primarily, because mostly such products are not designed for any problem the...

TIP | Quick-and-dirty demon pic enhancements

Sometimes, it's easier than I've made it look in other posts to this blog to produce a great image showing a demon from a blurry, dark still frame (the best lighting, and sometimes only means of acquiring any such image) like this one: On the left, enhancements to an image made to the original on the right, which shows with just one side of the demon's face This short post shows a technique that is far simpler than processing an image pixel-by-pixel using image-quality metrics and statistics; specifically, one by which you duplicate the better half of a demon's head in two, and join it, mirrored, to the other half. NOTE | That's 1) cut-and-paste , 2) mirror horizontally, and then 3) move in Photoshop and GIMP. Here are the results of that technique applied to a still frame taken from a video made yesterday: 1) An image showing only half a demon's head ( right ) 2) Half of the head, copied and pasted on a new layer (duplicated)  3) A horizon...

TIP | Using Google to search The Life of a Demoniac

DRAFT.... One thing I've learned over the course of my problematic existence is that tackling a big problem (such as living the life of a demoniac) becomes more manageable when broken down into its constituent parts. By examining its intricacies, I can group smaller problems by similarity, and then work on one problem independently of the others; and, by revealing any connections between them that were once concealed in their combination, I can free up time and effort by formulating strategies that not only solve more than just one problem, but that also complement each other so that they can be combined into one big solution to the one big problem I started with. Data analysts call this the split-apply-combine strategy ; and, if you're reading this blog because you have a problem like mine, you'd do well to become a one-man, splitting-applying-combining strategic machine real fast. If that is, in fact, your problem, you've come to the right place to eventually be...

PREVIEW | DemonNet for iOS Developers

The source code for the fully functioning prototype of DemonNet, the upcoming local DAQ system packaged as an app for iPhone, is now available as a free distribution to iOS developers for test deployment. Xcode view hierarchy debugger The following video is intended for use as a supplement to a personal demo for interested developers; it shows the first prototype of the app running on an iPhone 6s Plus as it calculates in real-time the peak-signal-to-noise ratio between samples acquired at 30 fps (shown in the top video window) and the reference sample (shown in the window below): The app features hands-free operation, in that the user simply launches the app, puts the phone down, and then leaves it to collect data on its own. The app's built-in anti-bias mechanisms in the app obviate the need for setup and monitoring of the app, ensuring that the app acquires non-biased samples suitable for subsequent analysis; specifically, the app waits until the camera is running, ...

READER | Targeted individuals aren't delusional, they're simply uninformed

Some people call targeted individuals ( victims of gang-stalking)  crazy as a way of saying that gang-stalking does not exist, and that it's all in their heads. While it's true that a TI can be crazy, and wrongly claim they are being gang-stalked when they are not, a problem does exist—just not as TIs understand it. This post documents an effort to bring a TI into a better understanding of his situation, who was far more receptive to it than many. Each time I set out to bring a TI into the know (which must be done one person at a time), I hit a barrier that formed from the myriad of encounters with people calling them crazy. Before I even begin to provide an explanation for anything, I've already heard just how crazy they're not, and reasons why I shouldn't refute any of their evidence, and otherwise am presented with their defiance of an attempt to debunk them, which wasn't what I was going to try to do, having yet to ...
